Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can sharp Abdominal Pain Along With Nausea Be Treated?
I have on approximately six different occasions experienced sharp abdominal pains shortly after eating, followed by bloating, nausea, gas, occasional vomiting and a feeling of lethargy. I am 64 years old and fairly healthy. These episodes usually occur at or after lunch. The one common issue is when I eat food products with wheat or seeds. Taking antacids as soon as the symptoms start has helped, if they are accessible. I take fiber drinks in the morning and my bowel movements are pretty regular.
Abdominal pain shortly after eating, followed by bloating, nausea, gas, occasional vomiting and feeling of lethargy are indicating stomach problems like gastritis or acid reflux.
Should schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist and run upper endoscopy to rule this out.
Furthermore, liver and pancreas should be checked through abdominal ultrasound and liver/pancreas/kidney function test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
